Professional Certifications and Designations

Schneider Custom Builders holds a number of professional certifications and designations from reputable institutions such as National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Our team continues to study and seek new knowledge on building trends, industry expertise and business acumen so we can provide the best possible homes and experiences for our customers.

Our Certifications include:

Graduate Master Builder (GMB) – The ultimate symbol of the building professional, the Graduate Master Builder (GMB) designation is for experienced veterans only. Before beginning the GMB designation process, you must have the CGB designation or the CGR designation with five years of building experience, or 10 years of building experience and successful completion of three CGB/CGR courses.
Master Certified Green Professional (Master CGP) – As green and high-performance construction turns to the mainstream, experienced green industry professionals seek an educational designation that signifies their long-standing commitment to and experience with sustainable building and remodeling. They find it with the Master Certified Green Professional (Master CGP) designation.
Certified Graduate Builder (CGB) – This designation from the National Association of Home Builders focuses on effective management in the office and on the job site, covering all stages of new come construction.  Topics include scheduling, estimating, job cost procedures, accounting principles and basic contract law.  There are several required courses and agree to the CGB Code of Ethics Pledge to obtain the certification.
Certified Green Professional (CGP) – The Certified Green Professional™ designation recognizes builders, remodelers and other industry professionals who incorporate green building principles into homes— without driving up the cost of construction. Classwork leading to the designation provides a solid background in green building methods, as well as the tools to reach consumers, from the organization leading the charge to provide market-driven green building solutions to the home building industry.
Certified Aging in Place Specialist (CAPS) – The Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist (CAPS) designation program teaches the technical, business management, and customer service skills essential to competing in the fastest growing segment of the residential remodeling industry: home modifications for the aging-in-place.
EPA Lead-Safe Certified Contractor – The Environmental Protection Agency’s  Lead Renovation, Repair and Painting Rule (RRP Rule) requires that contractors performing renovation, repair, and painting projects that could disturb lead-based paint in homes, child care facilities and pre-schools built before 1978. Schneider Custom Builders is an EPA Lead-Safe Certified Contractor.
EarthCraft House of Virginia Certification – The EarthCraft House Program, a green-building certification provides a blueprint for healthy and comfortable homes that reduce utility bills, are durable, water-and resource-efficient, and protect the environment. Builders who certify their homes with EarthCraft house understand the value of high-performance home building and the associated benefits that convey to their clients.
