Why Build Instead of Buy?

By | News, Uncategorized | No Comments

If you’ve never lived in a home that truly feels like yours, why would you settle for buying another cookie-cutter design in a subdivision where every house looks the same? When you’re tired of feeling like you’re renting instead of living in your own dream space, it’s time to build.

With fall just around the corner and kids going back to school, it’s time to get back to your family values and think about what you want in your home. Do you want extra space to host family and your child’s friends for weekend gatherings and parties? Do you want lots of natural light and high ceilings to feel closer to nature, even when you’re indoors? Do you want to extend your living space into your backyard to feel the fresh breeze but stay protected from ticks and mosquitoes?

Building your dream home allows you to consider everything you have on your wish list and make it a reality. Whether you need extra bathrooms for a busy home, a secluded spot for a quiet home office, or plentiful countertop space for holidays and dinners, you can have it all, and make your space the one you’ve always wanted but couldn’t find on the market.

Of course, it takes a lot of work to design and build a home that is both beautiful and functional. The Schneider design team is ready to put our knowledge to use and help you build the house that finally feels like home. If you are looking to build a new primary home, invest in a vacation property or improve upon your existing home with a custom renovation, we want to hear about your ideas and desires. Give Schneider Custom Builders a call and let us help you take that first step toward your dream home: 757-819-4466.

Getting Started on Your Summer Project

By | Custom Home Building, News, Small Projects | No Comments

Summer is finally here, which means you’re to spend more time outside and enjoy relaxing with family and friends. It also means that this is the time of year when families have the most free time, and you’re probably ready to finally get started on your home build or remodel. Balancing both can be tough, especially when there is work to be done but another day at the beach sounds better.

Thankfully, the team at Schneider Custom Builders is here and ready to help you jump start your summer project.

Throughout our reviews, one of the most common pieces of feedback we receive is our ability to take your ideas and use them to find the best options for your home based on materials and structure. We work closely with all of our clients to meet individual needs, while making sure they also have a home they and their family will enjoy for a lifetime. With our combined experience and knowledge of quality products and designers, we know you’ll enjoy the way your home looks and feel. Even better, you’ll likely end up with a design that is even better than what you envisioned!

For instance, Ervin J. says, “We knew what we wanted, but Jim and his staff helped us to get there by pointing out flaws and offering suggestions. He knows what he is doing, particularly with framing and structure.”

Whether your project is big or small, we give every effort the same attention to detail. We’re here to decrease the stress involved with large and small home projects from start to finish. Our commitment to homeowners means you’ll get an honest assessment of your projects, a fair price and quality craftsmanship that you simply won’t find in the handyman or remodeling trades.

Take a look at our project gallery, and give us a call today (757) 819-4466 to discuss how we can do the same for you. It’s not too late!

Fall 2015 Builder 20 Club Meeting a Success!

By | Company News, News | No Comments

Another successful Builder 20 Club meeting is in the books!

The Builder 20 Club is a unique organization the was created by the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB). The Club meets twice a year and discusses all matters of business within the industry. They critique, analyze, and have at times made difficult decisions and recommendations for one another. The Builder 20 Clubs are made up of some of the finest builders from around the world. Participation in this Builder 20 Club has made Schneider Custom Home Builders a better builder, as well as a better business.

Each meeting, a member of our club hosts the event and gives a tour of some of the projects they’ve worked on in their area. From September 30th through October 3rd, our group of talented builders met in Novi, Michigan, hosted by Compo Builders, Inc, and it was the first full year of Jim’s 2-year term as club chair. These meetings are always a great source of new ideas and perspectives, as well as a chance to reconnect with dear friends and colleagues.

These organizations provide encouragement and an opportunity for builders to constantly be fine-tuning their craft. Being surrounded by builders with decades of experience, who face unique challenges in their own location, cultivates interesting discussions and provides a valuable support network of useful information. Each meeting also hosts 1-2 speakers to present topics of interest to the group. For example, this year we focused on “The Salesperson vs. The Prospect Game” and “Lean Processes & Plans.”

We look forward to reuniting in the Spring for our next Builder 20 Club meeting! Be sure to check out all of the wonderful members of this group here: Builder 20 Club.
